Most Canadian SMBs leave money on the table because nobody owns the file. Engineering is busy shipping. Finance is busy closing the books. The grant or SR&ED claim becomes a December scramble, and the CRA asks for evidence that was never written down.

  2. Named experiments, not "R&D in general"
  3. Timesheets that map people to the uncertainty, not to tickets
  4. A 90-day preplan so next year's claim is not a surprise
